Canada offers arguably one of the best health care systems in the world. There is a need though to review, and relook at the systems and processes to make it sustainable from the perspective of the main user, the patient. Sunram Systems and its Principal Founder Ram Krishna have substantial consulting experience in this sector. Ram is a Board member of the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA). He offers a sound perspective in the broad area of chronic disease management and more specifically diabetes in the context of the health care system. An engaging speaker, Ram is often invited to address decision makers comprising of health care professionals and administrators. Ram also frequently appears in the TV and print media. He is regularly invited to be a member of several expert committees including TC LHIN Diabetes Strategy, RCC Diabetes Advisory Group, the DSME Advisory Panel on Patient Self-Management, CDA’s Clinical Practice Guidelines, stakeholder dialog for optimizing diabetes management, Quality Indicators etc. The focus is on improving the patient experience, quality of care and factors influencing patient behaviour. He has recently contributed a few chapters on patient self management in a recent book on Diabetes.
